I currently teach History at a secondary school in Leeds and focus on guiding students through the AQA GCSE specification. With a background in political thought and modern revolutions, I’ve helped students improve their exam performance through targeted content review and source evaluation skills. I specialise in topics including Elizabethan England, Weimar Germany, and Cold War conflict.

My GCSE History students consistently achieve top results, with many progressing to A-Level and beyond. I currently teach History and Politics at a school in Surrey and serve as an examiner for AQA and OCR. I hold a Master’s in Modern History and have authored several GCSE textbooks. My focus is on exam preparation, especially in topics like Weimar Germany, Cold War relations, and Crime and Punishment.

My love for History started in school and led me to study the subject at university, where I focused on modern British and European history. With years in the classroom and years spent working as a GCSE examiner, I bring deep curriculum knowledge to every lesson. I specialise in topics like Medicine Through Time, Elizabethan England, and the Cold War, helping students sharpen their exam responses and build confidence in their historical analysis.

I started out teaching GCSE History at Regent High in London and saw early on how the right support could completely shift a student’s confidence. Since then, I’ve worked across dozens of exam boards and helped students excel in modules like Cold War, Weimar Germany, and Crime and Punishment. My background in education research gives me a sharp eye for what examiners look for.

I specialise in GCSE History tutoring, drawing on my academic training in Modern History and a strong publication record as a textbook author. My experience includes writing six school textbooks and teaching at both independent and state schools. I support students with focused exam strategies, particularly for modules like Medicine through Time, Cold War, and Weimar Germany.

After coaching our school’s first student to win a national history essay prize, I began offering one-on-one tutoring to help others achieve more than just good grades. I now specialise in GCSE History, particularly with the AQA and Edexcel syllabi, and guide students through units like Medicine Through Time, the Cold War, and Weimar Germany with clarity and purpose.

I am good at teaching GCSE History because I know what examiners look for and how to help students get there. With over nine years of classroom experience in both the UK and abroad, I’ve taught a wide range of historical topics and exam boards. I currently lead a History and Politics department and tutor students preparing for AQA and Edexcel GCSE History.
